I am a financial planner and a mom of 2 young boys living in Massachusetts. I have seen way too often women taking a backseat when it comes to their family's finances due to the stories they tell themselves (does "I'm not smart enough" or "I'm not good with money" sound familiar?). It is so crucial to have the knowledge and understanding of personal finances in order to feel confident and empowered to live our best lives.
This is where I come in - through relatable and very personal stories, I help women understand the thoughts and feelings behind our behaviors. My goal is to help us unpack the deeply embedded stories we have been telling ourselves and reframe our mindset so that we can begin to spend, save and act in alignment with our intentions. This is the true path to healing our relationship with money.
I was the kid that had no idea what I wanted to be when I grew up. I was creative and silly and had absolutely no awareness of personal finance. After graduating college with a degree in Marketing, I landed a job at a financial services company, because I was told that's what I was supposed to do (not exactly a fairy tale story at this point). I barely knew how to balance a check book (which, yes, was a thing still then), but it was right during this time that I fell in love with personal finance. I began studying for the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation, which I received in 2010. I then started my career working with individuals helping them make sense of their financial lives. It was during these years that I also developed a passion for psychology and mental health. I launched my podcast last year as a way to combine those passions and to re-engage with my creative side. The podcast is my outlet for when life gets intense and I hope it inspires others who may be going through some similar experiences.
Mini golfing with my crew (my husband Craig, Colin - age 5, and Ryan - age 2.5), running in all forms, whether its after my kids or on the beach, yoga, trips to Target, soft serve ice cream, baking cookies, talking, glitter, food trucks, literally anything with Will Ferrell, red wine, blue skies, and eating dinner outside.
